A friendship that becomes a creative opportunity

A friendship that becomes a creative opportunity Lucrezia is a dear friend I met in a musical context, a university student with a bold and modern glam rock look. Her passion for music immediately struck me, so I suggested turning it into a theme for a photo shoot.

The idea was to experiment and grow together, bringing her energy and style into a rehearsal room.

When she arrived with her ex's guitar, a Van Halen Special, and that irresistible rock vibe, I knew we had the perfect opportunity to create images that would convey not only her character, but also the connection between music and photography.

Rehearsal room lighting and atmosphere

This set was one of my first original attempts, which is why I remember it with particular fondness.

I used a couple of fixed lights with softboxes to give softness and direction, while a flash, used occasionally, added dynamism and depth.

At first, Lucrezia was visibly embarrassed and a little awkward, but the rehearsal room, with its instruments and musical vibes, helped to ease the tension.

Gradually, guiding her with small suggestions and encouragement, we managed to transform that technical and spartan environment into an intimate stage, where her glam rock look could emerge with strength and authenticity.

From embarrassment to sensuality

What started as an almost humorous set, with lighthearted and playful poses, evolved into a hint of unexpected sensuality.

Lucrezia overcame her initial shyness, found confidence, and began to play with her image, allowing a more daring and feminine side to emerge. It was an important moment for me: seeing a loved one trust and grow in front of the camera, transforming embarrassment into expressiveness.

This first experiment paved the way for more complex and mature glamour shoots that we did later, but it remains special because it marks the beginning of a shared journey, made up of trust, creativity, and a willingness to put oneself out there.

“Oh my gosh, at first I felt terrible... but in the end I actually enjoyed myself.”
